Our beloved Alex was called home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on December 25, 2020. Alex was born April 16, 1959 in Lamesa, TX to Claro Sr. and Angelita Barron. He started his career as a Tire Technician after graduating from Lamesa High School. He move to Hobbs in 1979 and worked at Shook Tire, Lea County Road Dept, Forrest Tire, and Murdock York Tire until his passing. He Married Mars Padilla in Hobbs and celebrated twenty-two years together. Arrangments are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Alex was a simple man and would help anyone in need. He was an avid Vikings & Astro fan most of all he loved his Lord Jesus Christ. He loved going to go see his sons and grandkids. Especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play little league baseball and granddaughters play softball. Alex had the time of his life going to Astro games and recently his son Scotty taking him Deep Sea Fishing. Alex had a heart of gold and will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Claro Jr and Cruz; one sister: Josie Cueller. Surviving him and cherishing his memories, is his wife: Mars Padilla-Barron of Hobbs, NM; sons: Danny Chavez Jr. (Joye) and Scotty Ray Chavez Sr. (Lisa) both of Hobbs; grandchildren: Paris Chavez, Alexis Padilla, Ryan and Keegan Campbell, Madison and Scotty Jr. Chavez; Siblings: Angel (Yolanda) Barron from Lamesa, TX , Tony Barron from Hobbs, NM , Mike Barron from Lamesa, Janie Barron from Lamesa, and Isabel Reynosa (Roberto)Rio Hondo, TX and numerous nephews and nieces. Services will be held on Friday January 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Belvue Baptist Church in Hobbs. Please wear your mask. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 7, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home in Lovington, 1106 North Main Street. Condolences may be sent to wwwsmithrogers.com
