Memorial services for Jewel Bresler, 92, of Portales, NM and former resident of Lovington, will be held Portales Valley Church of Christ in Portales, NM on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 10:00 am. Mrs. Bresler passed away at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock on Monday, December 9, 2013. She was born on August 13, 1921 in Tishomingo, Mississippi to James Edward and Tressa (Burns) Twitty. Jewel was a long time member of Third & Central Church of Christ when she lived in Lovington and a member of Portales Valley Church of Christ in Portales. Her special hobbies included oil painting, reading and gardening. She was married to Ernest Richard “Dick” Bresler on May 27, 1939 in West, Texas and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son: Rick Bresler of Portales and a daughter: Judy Perkins of Amarillo, TX; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
