Obituary of Robert Leal

Memorial services for Robert Leal, 55, of Las Cruces, NM and formerly of Lovington, NM , will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Samuel Ameh officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Robert was born on September 15, 1965 in Lockney, TX to Jose and Mary (Galvan) Leal and passed away on February 3, 2021. Robert worked in retail for forty years with transfer from Odessa, TX to Las Cruces where he was a manager. He liked going to car shows, listening to Tejano Music, hunting, cooking, watching baseball and football especially his favorite football team, the Pittsburg Steelers. He absolutely adored all his nieces and nephews and loved them all unconditionally. Surviving him is his parents: Jose and Mary Leal of Lovington; two brothers: Steven Leal of Lubbock, TX, and Joe Leal and wife Melony of Hobbs; their four children: Shyra and husband Eric Gutierrez of San Antonio, TX, Zane Stewart of Orciano Pisano, Italy, Calee and husband Ricardo Blanco of Lubbock, TX., and D'Marcus Leal of Hobbs; one sister: Lisa and husband Joe Gomez of Lovington; their children: Francheska and CJ Hendrickson of Hobbs, Semoree Gomez of Las Cruces, Wyatt and Ayden Gomez of Lovington. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm at the funeral home Condolences may be sent to wwwkirbysmithrogers.com.
