Obituary of Antonio Tovar Sr.

Graveside services for Antonio Tovar Sr, 90, of Mesquite, TX will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 10:00 am at Lovington Cemetery with Father Samuel Ameh officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Antonio was born of March 10, 1931 in Mission, TX to Agustin Rincon and Juana Lira (Reyes) Tovar and passed away on March 15, 2021. He enjoyed being outdoors, was a hard worker and had a strong will. Antonio did not like to depend on anyone and did everything for himself. He loved coffee and liked to go to McDonalds for breakfast. He would sit outside his sons shop, talking about Lovington. Antonio truly loved his grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents: one son: George Armando Tovar; two brothers and one sister. He is survived by two sons: Antonio Tovar Jr and wife Sonia of Hobbs and Robert and wife Yvonne Tovar of Winfield, TX; two daughters: Janie and husband Luis Vaquera of San Angelo, TX. and Elizabeth Tovar of Mesquite, TX; two sisters: Maria Mendoza of Yoakum, TX and Nicolasa Rinco of Mexico; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 3:00 pm until after the Rosary which will be at 6:00 pm at Kirby -Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel.
