She was number six of eleven children, James, Lahoma, Jack, Emmitt, Betty, Billie, Lavada, Purna, George, Ann and Hugh Jack. The family left Oklahoma when Billie was five years old. They moved in a covered wagon or so the story was told. They lived in Richland, TX and then Barstow, where Billie started school. They eventually moved to Pecos, TX where the family stayed. Her Daddy was a blacksmith and a welder. She met the love of her life, Bill Hardaway when she was fifteen as he was the brother of one of her friends. (He said as soon as he saw her he knew that was going to be wife) and she dated him all through high school. They married three days after her graduation on May 29, 1949. Their daughter, "Patty Kay" was born August 29, 1950 and their son Patrick was born October 21, 1962. Billie was very dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ and when you visited with her, there was always scriptures quoted from her many years of reading her Bible. She was always ready to pray for you and give you encouragement in the Lord. She made most of Patty's clothes when she was growing up and was always the "decorator" and made the house look so together……if she put a rock on the table it looked like it belonged there. Billie did foot reflexology for many years and make many people feel better and relaxed. She was a very sweet, loving person that made everyone feel at home. Preceding her in death were her parents: Hugh and Pearl, her husband Bill; five brothers: James, Jack, Emmitt, George and Hugh Jack; four sisters: Lahoma, Betty, Lavada and Purna. Surviving her is one daughter, Patty and husband David Jones of McCamey, TX; one son: Patrick Hardaway of San Angelo, TX; one sister: Ann Jarry of Graham, TX; five grandchildren: Matt & wife Christy of Odessa, TX; Billlye and husband Shane Louder of Midland, TX; Robin and husband Andrew Dillon of McKinney, TX ; Ashley Hardaway and husband Jon of Ft. Worth, TX and Ashton Hardaway of Kentucky and also nineteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 5:00-7:30 pm at the funeral home.
