Obituary of Johnny Roberts Stoneham

Graveside services for Johnny Roberts Stoneham, 98, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 10:00 am at Lovington Cemetery with Hospice Chaplain Mike Adams officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, April 16th from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Mr. Stoneham was born on July 31, 1922 in Lovington, NM to Peter Snyder and Florrie Dee (Roberts) Stoneham and passed away on April 14, 2021 at Good life Senior Living. He joined the Army Air Corp during WWII, became a Sergeant and served our country until 1945. Some of his employment through the years was working for a newspaper in California; MJL service station; the potash mines in the chemical plant refinery and then sold life insurance. He owned and operated Stoneham Real Estate and Escrow for many years, retiring from that business. Johnny enjoyed playing the harmonica and going to different places to play with Johnny Gooch. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Miles July 16, 1992 in Lovington and they have shared life and love for twenty nine years. Preceding him in death were his parents, his first wife, Martha and his half-sister, Emma Lou Foreman. Surviving him is his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Stoneham; two daughters: Linda Stoneham of Lovington and Jean and husband Bob Mitts of Carney, Missouri; one stepson Steve and wife Tina Miles of Tucson, AZ ; two grandchildren: Jennifer Kjellsen and Nathan Robert Mitts; two step-grandchildren: Dylan Miles and Electra and husband Kevin Patrick; five great-grandchildren: Emma Noelle Kjellsen, Luke Torgeir Kjellsen, Emil Robert Kjellsen, Heidi Jean Mitts and Nadia Rae Mitts.
