Maxine (Taffy) Olivia Brodie, 84, of Hobbs was born on March 28, 1937 to Francis Dee and Ruby Mae Scully. She passed away May 30, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. Maxine was fiercely independent, outrageously artistic and a unique individual who was much loved and will be wildly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Brodie; daughter, Linda Brodie and granddaughter, Maxi. Survivors include her son, Doug Brodie and daughter, Kate (Brodie) Drown; sisters, Peggy and Betty; grandchildren, Brodie, Skylar, James, Allen, Kimber, Ciara, Dougie, Joey, Meagan, Patrick, Andrea, Tiffany and Laurie as well as 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many loved ones not necessarily related.
Maxine did not want a funeral or any fuss, so if you want to celebrate her life; donate to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or plant a tree or flowers with her in mind. She would love that.
