Obituary of Peggy June Price

Graveside services for Peggy June "Honey" Price, 84, of Lubbock, TX and formerly of Tatum, NM will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Tatum Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Brazil officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Peggy or "Honey" as she was well known by, was born in Rocksprings, Texas on August 22, 1936 to Col. Dude and Nancy (Brackon) Sullins and passed away in Denver City, Texas on June 4, 2021. She came to Lea County in the early "50's" and married Tommy Price in Roswell, NM on November 16, 1954. Honey was a devoted housewife and loving mother, wife and grandmother. She was a happy woman that enjoyed life and doing things with her family and she was a great lover of flowers. She was a great cook and cooked for many branding crews and her family. She hauled her boys to rodeos and took her beloved granddaughters shopping, which was one of Honey's favorite things to do, also. She spoiled the grandkids and herself somewhat and was a very witty person. She took care of herself and was always the epitome of a well-dressed woman. Honey was a giver of her time and talent to the community and to her family and friends. She was a former member of the Tatum Sorority, the Cowbells and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Tatum. Her favorite saying was "we are not put here on earth to judge one another, but to love one another." She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Tommy and four brothers: Jim, Marvin, Leo and Daryl Sullins. Surviving her are her three sons: Charley Price and wife Lisa of Lovington, Sid Price and wife Betty of Elida, NM and Sterling Price and wife Lisa of Sonora, TX; two nieces and one nephew: Jimmy Sullins and wife Ann of Visalia, CA; Patricia Jones and husband Kress of Hobbs, NM and Nancy Walker and husband Rich of San Diego, CA; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 5-7pm at the funeral home and condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com.
