Funeral services for Sandra Kay Templeman, (Sandye), will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Robert Gasman officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Sandye was born on October 3, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to G. E. "Shug" Bradshaw and Dorothy Bradshaw. She passed away peacefully on June 26, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Shug and Dorothy moved to Lovington with their daughters, Judy and Sandye, when the girls were in elementary school. Sandye attended and graduated from Lovington schools where she was active in the Wildcat Band. After graduation, she attended and graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education. She also met her husband, James E. "Jim" Templeman while attending ENMU. The two were married on August 12, 1966. The couple moved back to Lovington after Jim finished law school at the University of Texas in Austin and they went on to have three children, Lisa, Robin, and David. Sandye enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to several bridge groups through the years. She was also a member of the Lovington Country Club and loved to play golf with her friends. Sandye's most cherished job, however, was being a mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were her passion and she was happiest when she was surrounded by them. Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, David and her sister, Judy Sullivan. She is survived by her her husband of fifty five years, Jim Templeman and her two daughters: Lisa and her husband Scott Karger of Clovis, NM and Robin Acosta of Lovington, NM; three grandchildren: Shelby Acosta of Las Cruces, NM and Brannon Karger and J. T. Karger both of Lubbock, TX. Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com.
