Tyler Don Dixon

Tyler Don Dixon, 32, of Lubbock, TX and formerly of Hobbs, NM, went peacefully to be with the Lord on May 12, 2017. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 10:00 am at Crosswinds Community Church in Hobbs with Brad Reimers and David Holland officiating. Tyler was born in Hobbs, NM on August 7, 1984 to Michael and Sabrah (Ritchey) Dixon. He was raised in Hobbs and Lovington but graduated from Hobbs High School. He and Lindsay Wharton were married in Del Rio, TX on November 6, 2010. He was the owner and operator of Dixon Welding for many years and more recently started a new endeavor in the home construction business in Lubbock, with Celebration Homes as a superintendent, handling many crews. Tyler was a loving and devoted father and husband and was best described by his patience, sincerity, and fun loving personality. He made friends wherever he went and his easy, carefree spirit allowed him to have many friends that reached across generations of people. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing and had a general love for the outdoors and he loved his dog “Dakota”. He was a God loving man who had a strong personal relationship in his walk with the Lord. His greatest and most important joy was spending time with his wife and children. He has left a strong legacy of love through his sons, Luke and Elijah.
Tyler was preceded in death by his mother, Sabrah (Ritchey) Dixon, his grandmother: Dorothy Guinn and his great-grandad: J. W. Scott. Surviving him is his loving wife, Lindsay, of the home and his two sons: Luke David and Elijah Scott Dixon; his Grandmother: Kay Ritchey of Hobbs and Grandfather: Don Ritchey of Lovington: Great-grandmothers: Letha Ritchey and Dutch (Faye) Scott of Lovington and his in-laws: David and Lovelyn Wharton of Del Rio, TX; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, many nephews and one niece. Also Tyler leaves behind a host of friends.
Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 10:00 am until 4:30 pm and a private, family only visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
