Funeral services for Melissa Castellanos, 47, of Lovington will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:00 at New Beginnings Church with David Villar officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Melissa was born on March 31, 1974 in Lamesa, TX. to Manuel Elizondo and Rosaura Vera and passed away on August 24, 2021. She was raised in Lovington and graduated from Tatum High School. Melissa was a great wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She was a caring person that would put other people before herself. Melissa was a very happy person and very loveable. She liked going to the casino, dancing, and singing. She was preceded in death by: her parents: Rosaura Elizondo and Filemon Perez. Surviving her is her husband: Luis Castellanos of Lovington; two sons: Ismael Gomez and Manuel Gomez both of Lovington; two daughters: Mirna Carrillo and Juanna Gomez both of Lovington; two brothers: Simon Perez and Facundo Perez, both of Ft. Worth, TX; two sisters: Irma Perez of Midland, TX. and Ida Lopez of Lovington; her father: Manuel Elizondo of Lovington. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm and on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm at New Beginnings Church.
