Obituary of Manuel G. Quiroz

Funeral services for Manuel Gutierrez Quiroz Sr., 86, of Lovington will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Samuel Ameh officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Manuel was born on July 11, 1935 in Lamesa, TX. to Enrique and Eugenia (Guiterrez) Quiroz and passed away on October 12, 2021 at his residence. Manuel was a hard worker always having two or more jobs. He loved his family very much and was always looking out for them. Manuel enjoyed playing pool and loved playing dominos. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents: Enrique and Eugenia Quiroz; his wife: Alicia Quiroz; one daughter: Diane Alarcon; three sisters: Eulalia Garcia, Lillie Harback, and Zenaida "Sandy" Ortega; two brothers: Ismael Quiroz, and Benjamin Quiroz. He is survived by: one son: Manuel Quiroz Jr. and wife Alma of Lovington; two daughters: Priscilla Quiroz of Lovington, and Donna Quiroz of Lovington; four brothers: Henry Gutierrez and wife Karen of Lovington, Julian Quiroz and wife Grace of Roswell, Salvador Quiroz of Lovington, and Luis Quiroz and wife Julia of Arizona; four sisters: Janie and husband Ernest Doporto of Lovington, Emma and husband Julio Espinoza of Lovington, Elva and husband Joe Valenzuela of Lovington, and Yolanda and husband Eddie Fabela of Eunice; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 1:00 pm until after Rosary. Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Chapel.
