James "J.D" Howard DeVore, 51, Of Lovington went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2021. James was born on October 28, 1969 in Farmington, NM to Danny and Gay Lynn (Strawn) DeVore and passed away at his residence. J.D was raised in Reno, Nevada. He liked working, playing sports, watching sports, and listening to music. J.D was in the Special Olympics winning gold medals in swimming. He never met a stranger and always had a smile.
He was preceded in death by his father: Danny DeVore; his paternal grandparents: Jim and Rose DeVore; his maternal grandparents: Howard and Evelyn Strawn.
He is survived by his mother: Gay Lynn DeVore of Lovington; one brother: Gerome DeVore and wife Brenda of Lovington; and four nieces: Danielle, Breely, Cambri, and Chelsea.
