Obituary of Dorothy Parchman

Dorothy Mae Parchman of Hobbs, passed away October 9, 2021 in Hobbs, NM. She was born on July 20, 1937 to George and Ethel Startz in Alice, Texas. Dorothy married George E. Parchman on January 7, 1956 and shared 63 wonderful years of marriage until his death in 2020. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, George Parchman; her parents, George and Ethel Startz; two brothers, William Startz and Elmer Ray Startz; sister, Lois Ann Mullins and grandson, Cameron Bunch. She is survived by her children, Glenda Bunch (Gorman) of Whitesboro, TX, Pam White (Lonnie) of Sulphur Springs, TX, Sidney Parchman (Kerri) of Canyon, TX and Leslie Pfalzgraf (Tim) of Hobbs, NM. She was a loving mawmaw (meme George) to 10 grandkids, Amanda Deck of Whitesboro, TX, Nicki Stultz (Brad) of Magnolia, AR, Neil White of Little Rock, AR, Kevin Hartless (Lauren) of Whitesboro, TX, Dustin Pfalzgraf (Heather) of Hobbs, NM, Garrett Pfalzgraf (Ashley) of Hobbs, NM, Kami Bryant of Carlsbad, NM, Rebecca Price (Anthony) of Amarillo, TX, Jill Haveman (Kevin) of Midland, TX and David Jensen of Midland, TX. She also had 11 great grandchildren. Dorothy is also survived by her brothers, Edgar Startz, Sherman Startz (Judy), and Ernest (Donna) all of Alice, TX and her sister, Emogene Caraway of Choctaw, OK. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy loved cooking for her family and having family get togethers; she loved her flowers and sewing. Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm in Prairie Haven Memorial Park with Pastor Lavoid Ford, officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 2:00-6:00 pm at Temple Baptist Church, 1113 N. Grimes, Hobbs, NM and Thursday 10:00 am-noon.
