Obituary of Doris Ellen Owens

Please share a memory of Doris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Doris was born on January 2, 1939 in Bristow, OK to Elmer and Ola (Woodcock) Smith and passed away at her residence on November 12, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Doris, or Granny, as she was known to almost all who knew her, leaves a legacy of love and hospitality. She welcomed all through her door and there was always a seat at her table for any who asked. Many cups of coffee or Dr. Pepper and home cooked meals were shared along with home spun wisdom and stories about her life's adventures. The picture of a servant's heart, Granny's greatest joy was creating a home full of love and laughter for her family and friends. Her wisdom, stories, and laughter will be remembered by all who were blessed to have her in their lives. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband: Troy Lee Owens; one son: Dewayne Lee Owens; and one daughter: Elizabeth Ann Pawelek. Surviving her is, one daughter Mary and husband Andy Haarmeyer of Lovington; one son David Owens of Tacoma, Washington ;one daughter-in-law Cindy Owens of Lubbock, Texas ; one brother: Elmer Wayne and wife Charlotte Smith of Desert Air Washington; one sister: Linda and Husband Bill Boss of Lovington; beloved nieces: Lucinda and Susan Falkner; eleven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
