Obituary of Juan Bara

Juan G. Bara, 89 of Lovington, NM is at peace now with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On November 22, he passed on from this life. He was born on November 24, 1931 in Brownfield, Texas to Santiago and Antonia Bara. In 1954, he married his loving wife Juana Bara. Juan was a member of the National Guard. He worked for Uyeno and Harada Farms for many years and proceeded to work for Ferguson Construction until retirement in 1985. After retiring from Ferguson Construction, he enjoyed gardening, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Juan was a faithful member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Lovington. He was a kind, patient, loving parent and grandparent. He enjoyed watching western movies, listening to music, singing, and playing checkers. He is preceded in death by his parents: Santiago and Antonia Bara; his brothers: Alvino, Manuel, and Thomas Bara; as well as his sisters: Carolina Moncayo, Genoveve Reyes, Juanita Salazar; one grandson Seth Isaiah Villa. He is survived by his wife Juana Bara; daughters: Nora Trevizo (Jesse), Olivia Villa (George), and Melissa Tavarez (David); sons Jack, Billy (Andrea), and Johnny (Maria) Jessie; two sisters; Adelfa Doporto (Edward Sr.) and Epifania Garza (Martin); thirty-one grandchildren, Forty-two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Our Dad and Granddad will truly be missed, he will remain forever in our hearts.
