Obituary of Norma Katherine Drummond

Norma Katherine Drummond February 06, 1925 - February 21, 2009 Memorial services for Norma Drummond, 84, will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 11:00 am at Kirby-Smith- Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at a later date. Officiating will be David Young. Mrs. Drummond was born February 6, 1925 in Rosenberg, Texas to Oswald & Emilie Zieschang and passed away on February 21, 2009 in Hobbs, NM. Mrs. Drummond married Ray Drummond June 30, 1932 in Camp Polk, Louisiana. She lived many places while her husband was in the service. She was employed as a bank cashier, enjoyed cooking, traveling and shopping. She volunteered at the thrift shop at Lincoln County Medical Center in Ruidoso, worked in the Ruidoso Museum cataloging books and also enjoyed being involved in archaeological digs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oswald Ernst & Emilie Guttenberger Zieschang; one brother, Herbert George Zieschang and her stepmother, Dora Wolsel. She is survived by her husband, Ray Drummond of Hobbs, NM; 4 daughters, Dixie Drummond of Lovington, NM; Kitty “Dolly” Miller of Tucson, Arizona; Carol Streber of Lovington, NM and Lynda McGinnis of Lovington, NM; one niece, Lynn Gail Zieschang and one nephew, Herbert Wayne Zieschang; 4 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
