Obituary of Patsy Barnwell Baggett

Pat Baggett, 83, of Lovington, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. She was born Patsy Ruth to Fred Clinton and Vera Val Harris Barnwell on December 22, 1938 in Talco, Texas (Titus County). Pat was the baby sister to Fred Clinton, Jr, Bobbye Jean, Wanda Mae, Dean Harris (Bud), Harold Bane (Baney), and Charlotte Anne. Pat spent much of her life in East Texas before moving to West Texas where she graduated from Monahans High School in 1957. It was there she met the love of her life. Pat married Richard Dale Baggett on October 11, 1958 in Monahans, Texas in the home of her parents. The family relocated to Lovington in 1975. Her greatest contribution and what filled her heart were raising her five children. Added to her delight were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pat served the Lord faithfully throughout her life by passionately loving and serving others. What brought her the most joy in life was opening the family home to encourage and feed family, friends and neighbors. Pat is survived by her loving husband, Richard, and her children, Regina Dale Nelson and husband, Jay, of Lovington, Johnie Ray and wife, Roena, of Monahans, Texas, Freddie Jay and wife, Karen, of Lovington, Rene Denise and husband, Bryan Axtell, of Edmond, OK and Rebecca Dawn Carter, of Lovington. She is survived by her 31 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased in death by her parents and six of her siblings. A time of family visitations will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Pat's memorial service will be at the 3rd and Central church of Christ on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm with David Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at the Lovington Cemetery.
