Mada Maurine Dugan August 04, 1932 - April 25, 2014 Graveside services for Mada Maurine Dugan, 81, of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Resthaven Cemetery at 2:00 pm with Bro. Ron Ragland officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Maurine was born on August 4, 1932 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Marvin and Dollie (Young) Spell and passed away in Lovington at Good Samaritan Center on Friday, April 25, 2014. She had resided in New Mexico for many years, having attended and graduating from Melrose High School. She married Paul Kenneth Dugan in Roswell, NM on January 1, 1955. In 1969 they moved to Tatum, NM and later in 1976 moved to Lovington. Maurine worked at a bank in Clovis before her children were born and then became the epitome of mom, wife and caretaker of her family for many years. She was a long time active member of Trinity Baptist Church serving in whatever capacity she was needed, especially with her great cooking and serving food for the church. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, reading and working puzzles and her family. She was a loving, giving, serene lady with a servant’s spirit and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother: Glen Spell; one sister: Vada Wetzel and one grandson: Jamie Lee Quintana. She is survived by two sons: Steven Dugan of Oklahoma City, OK and Gary and wife Virginia Dugan of Hobbs, NM and two daughters: Kay and husband Robert Hardin of Lovington and Susan Dugan of Cibolo, TX; one sister: Coellen Hooker of Laramie, WY; twelve grandchildren: Brian Hardin, Megan Hardin, Amber Dugan, Kim Dugan, Tiffany Lopez, Tai Lopez, Brittany Quintana, Thomas Quintana, Yolanda Windham, Kathy and husband Tony Dunn, Paul Quintana and Tommy Quintana and numerous great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to NM Baptist Children’s Home, Box 629, Portales, NM 88130 or The Gideons International.
