Obituary of Juan Gabriel Valdez

Gabriel Valdez was born January 17, 1978 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Socorro Valdez and Billie Faye Dutchover. He passed away June 13, 2022 at 10:30 am in Lubbock, Texas. He was surrounded by his loving family as he entered in the Heavenly gates to meet our Heavenly father. Gabriel is survived by his two sons: Isaiah Valdez of Lovington and Easton Valdez of San Antonio, TX.; sisters: Mona Gutierrez and husband Manuel Gutierrez Jr. of Lovington and Carrie Valdez of Odessa, TX.; three nephews: Josh Gutierrez of Midland, TX., JJ and Jayden Gutierrez of Lovington; two nieces: Daisia Castillo and Paris Castillo and one great nephew Kingston Navarro. He was preceded in death by his father the late Socorro Valdez and his grandparents. Gabriel was very close to his family and his friends. He loved life and couldn't help but lighten up a room with his smile. He was a good friend to so many and could be counted on and depended on to always get the family together. He was your man; ready, steadfast willing and with a heart of gold. Gabriel was a guy that would give the shirt off his back. Always trying to help others, he was always the first one to step in and help a family in need. He was the type of person that couldn't stand a person to go hungry. Cooking was a love of his and he liked sharing the bounty. We will miss him very much, but he is now healed surrounded by his Heavenly Father and those who left before him.
