Richard Michael "lucky" Larkin was born May 23rd 1947 to John and Lorena Larkin, both deceased, in Brooklyn New York. He was raised in Brooklyn with his brother John Jay (deceased). Mike enlisted in the navy in 1964 at the age of 17, and served during the Vietnam War on the USS Enterprise. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Mike moved to Clovis New Mexico with his brother, where he met his wife Sue Ann England. Mike and Sue were married April 21st 1969 and moved to Lovington New Mexico. Mike and Sue had 2 daughters Heather Ann Larkin (51), and Rebecca Sue Larkin (deceased). Mike started working in the oilfield after moving to Lovington and did every job in the oilfield before retiring as a drilling superintendent for Yates Drilling Company in 2005. Mike loved to travel and to do lots of puzzles. He fought for 2 years with chemo and surgeries, but died June 8th at his home. Mike is survived by his wife Sue Ann of Lovington and his daughter Heather Ann of Lovington. In lieu of flowers a donation to American cancer society would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to extend much gratitude to the nurses and staff at nor lea cancer treatment center, and the wonderful people at star hospice.
