Wanda "Joy" Duke October 01, 1934 - January 26, 2015 Funeral services for Wanda “Joy” Duke, 80, formerly of Lovington, NM, Morton, TX, and Stanley, ND but residing in The Woodlands, TX at the time of her passing, will be held at Kirby Smith Rogers Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10:00 am with David Stewart, minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 10am-8pm at Kirby Smith Rogers Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Joy was born on October 1, 1934 to Elvin and Betty Laws in Mount Vernon, Texas. She passed away on January 26, 2015 in The Woodlands, TX. She grew up in Mount Vernon, Texas and moved to Lovington, NM in the early 60s. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed country music and dancing. She also loved to fish and hang out with friends and family and she especially loved children. She worked various jobs throughout the years in the food and beverage industry. She enjoyed working and was a hard worker. She was a truly honest woman. Joy was a Christian and was not afraid to meet her maker. Her last wish was to be buried by the man she truly loved, her late husband, Alton R. Jackson. Joy is survived by three sons: Charles W. Windsor of The Woodlands, TX, Ronney Windsor of Lovington, NM, and Robert West of Odessa, TX; two daughters: Rebecca Baker of Blackwell, TX and Wanda Sue Windsor of Plano, TX; two brothers: Charles Laws of Idalou, TX and Billy Jack Laws of Lovington, NM; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Alton R. Jackson, her parents, Elvin and Betty Laws, three sisters: Christine Laws, Mavis Laws, and Betty Joan Gilliam, one brother, Matthew Laws and one daughter, Barbara Tankersley.
