Obituary of Ernestina Palomo Rubio

Funeral services for Ernestina Palomo Rubio, 85, of Lovington will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Joe Pacquing officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Ernestina was born on November 23, 1937 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Jose and Felipa (Reyna) Palomo and died on December 26, 2022 in Lubbock. Ernestina was very religious, she was a Guadalupana and always said her rosary. She liked flowers, greeting cards, singing, and watching "I Love Lucy". Ernestina liked to cook and feed people. She was a kind, very giving, sweet person always concerned about other people. She had a lot of friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents: Jose and Felipa Palomo; one daughter: Maria Rubio; and three sisters: Antonia Galindo, Anita Lopez, and Virginia Franco. She is survived by three sons: Arturo Javier Rubio, Rafael Rubio, and Rudolfo Rudy Rubio; four daughters: Rose M. Gomez, Tina De La Cruz, Cindy Quiroz, and Connie Hinojos; one brother: Joe Palomo; and three sisters: Marina Echeverria, Esperanza Madrid, and Janie Palomo, sixteen grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 1:00 pm until after Rosary. Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Chapel.
