Ola Faye Nivens, 90, of Brownwood, TX formerly of Lovington, NM, passed away on January 9, 2023, in Brownwood. Ola Faye Ivory was born in Palestine, TX. to Robert Daniel and Essie Mae Van Deman Ivory on July 31, 1932. She went to high school at Woodhouse High School in Palestine and graduated in 1950. She married the love of her life, Huey Alton Nivens on January 14, 1953, in Palestine. They moved to Buckeye, NM and owned and operated the Buckeye Store until 1984. She moved to Lovington shortly after to raise her family. She was an active member of Jackson Avenue Baptist Church for many years. In 2015, she moved to Texas to be closer to her daughters. She was a faithful, kind and gentle woman adored by her family and friends.

Ola Faye Nivens is survived by her two daughters: Susan and husband Jim Broom of Brownwood, TX and Angie and husband Terry Roberts of Point, Texas; Nine grandchildren: Justin and Tanya Hutchins, Joshua Broom, Matthew and Robin Broom, Jeffrey and Lindsey Broom, Kyle and Emily Davis, Justin and Sarah Myers, Kole and Sarah Davis, Larry Dale Davis, and Jacob Roberts; Twenty-one great grandchildren, Jaden Hutchins, Kyleigh Hutchins, David Broom, Kaleb Broom, Anthony Broom, Chance Spalding, Madison Broom, Molly Broom, Ellie Broom, Karsyn Broom, Roan Broom, Harper Broom, Jayden Davis, Brock Davis, Jocelyn Davis, Jeweliana Davis, Judge Davis, Ross Myers, Ryan Myers, Camden Myers, and Anngelia Davis.

She was greeted in Heaven by her husband, parents, and brothers Royce and Bobby.

Visitation for Ola Faye Nivens will be held at Kirby Ratliff Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 18th from 10:00 AM to 11:30AM. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dave Rowser of Jackson Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby Ratliff Funeral Home.
