Grimes St., Hobbs, NM. Russell fell asleep in death on January 1, 2023 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX. He was surrounded by his three children and wife of 54 years in addition to other close family members. Russell was born on May 29, 1949 in Houma, Louisiana. He was the fifth of ten children. He loved being a part of a large family. His siblings describe him as being kind and generous. At the age of 18 he started to work with his uncles as a welder. He worked hard to support his wife and children, working as a contract pipeline welder for many years. After retirement, he found much joy in gardening. He loved growing all sorts of beautiful vegetables which he shared with local friends. He also had a great love for animals. His beloved little dog, Buster, followed him around everywhere as he tended to things in the yard. Russell cherished his hope for the future and as one of Jehovah's Witnesses he often shared this hope with people, even informally. He was preceded in death by his parents: Haywood and Notilia Triche; three sisters: Pearline Adams, Mary Aucoin, and Geraldine Randall; also nieces and one nephew. Surviving him is his wife, Violet, of the home in Lovington; two sons: Russell Triche II and wife Tami of Belton, TX, and Jamie Triche of Lovington; one daughter: Denise Esken and husband Craig of Corpus Christi, TX; four grandchildren: Megan Mercer, Christopher McDonald, Ashley Espino and husband Bobby, and Noah Esken; three great-grandchildren: Madison and Jace Mercer, and Everett Espino; four sisters: Sue Dupree and husband Malcolm, Janice Pollet and husband Oscar, Katy Guillory and husband Darrel, and Jackie Oliver and husband Bill; two brothers: Freddie Triche and wife Trudy and David Triche and wife Deanna; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Russell loved people and he was always eager to help in any situation. He treated people with compassion and kindness and he had a gift for making his family and friends laugh and feel loved. He will be greatly missed, but those who loved him have comfort in knowing he is resting, awaiting the resurrection, (John 5:28, 29).
