Obituary of Vickie Rye

On February 6, 2023 Vickie Lynn Rye of Lovington, NM gained her wings surrounded by her loved ones in Carlsbad, NM. Vickie was born April 5, 1953 in Park City, Utah to Leonard and Iris Vernon. She married the love of her life Garland Gene Rye on December 19, 1994. They spent 21 crazy loving years together before his passing in 2015. They welcomed and raised four beautiful daughters and four sons, and then came nineteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Vickie's greatest love was the love for her family, her grandkids lovingly called her "Mammie". Her hobbies included watching her crime documentaries and eating Hershey's kisses, spending time with her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. She loved to do crafts and would always make all the children and grandchildren Christmas ornaments every year. Vickie also loved her dog Critter, who was her companion for 19 years. Vicky lived with Greg and Wendi Rye, who were the most amazing care-givers and deserve a special Thank You for all they did. She was preceded in death by her parents: Iris and Leonard Vernon; her husband: Garland Gene Rye; her son: Jack Carroll. She is survived by four daughters: Lisa Neria of Duchesne, UT, Wendi (Greg) Rye of Lovington, NM, Lawana (Kevin Johnson) Cornelious of Salt Lake City, UT, Rochelle (Julie) Rye; three sons: Charles Cornelious of Lovington, NM, Bobby (Salina) Cornelious of Jefferson, OR, Michael (Madalyn) Cornelious; two brothers: Joe (Doris) Vernon of Heber City, UT, Earl Vernon of Duchesne, UT; one sister: Lois (Arnold) Vernon of Magna, UT; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. We all loved her dearly and this is not "Goodbye" its "LYL" ( Love you Later).
