Funeral services for Fidel Valdez, 83, of Lovington will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 9:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with father Samuel Ameh officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home Fidel was born on December 6, 1939 in El Chamizal, Satevo, Chihuahua, Mexico to Maclovio Valdez and Manuela Garay and passed away on March 21, 2023 in Denver City, Texas. Fidel loved to go fishing and hunting. He liked going to trips to Chihuahua, Mexico to visit his family. Fidel loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He loved his red truck.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Maclovio and Manuela Valdez; one sister: Maria Elena Valdez.

He is survived by his wife: Consuelo Valdez; One son: Miguel Valdez and wife Adriana; four daughters: Laura and husband Jesus Fuentes, Patricia Valdez, Erica and husband Rogelio Castillo, and Ira Valdez and Carlos Castillo; two brothers: Geronimo Valdez and wife Bertha and Oscar Valdez and wife Betty; one sister: Guadalupe Rodriguez; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 for noon until 7:00 pm. Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home.
