Graveside services for Nelson Odis Wilson, 96, of Ruidoso formally of Lovington will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery. Nelson was born on October 5, 1926 in Tipton, Oklahoma to James Chesley and Mary Elizabeth (Nelson) Wilson and passed away on April 24, 2023. Nelson served in the US Army during World War II in the Philippines and in Korea during the Korea War as the rank of Corporal. Nelson liked hunting, fishing and camping. He was always a happy man loved to joke and tease play his guitar and harmonica and loved to sing. He will be greatly missed by the many who knew him. He was preceded in death by parents: James and Mary Wilson; his wife Clara Mae Wilson and daughter-in-law Julie Wilson. He was survived by two sons: Odis Wilson and Susie and Steve Wilson; two daughters: Freeda Grube and Lee and Carol Young and Ritchie; three brothers: Eugene Wilson, J.E Wilson, and Bob Wilson; two sisters: Terecia Snider, and Margaret Lowe; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Chapel. Condolences may be sent to www.smithrogers.com.
