Obituary of Mary Ellen Sanchez

Memorial services for Mary Ellen Sanchez, 69, of Lovington will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Church of Living Waters with Pastor Enrique Junior Contreras officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Mary was born on October 1, 1953 in Lovington to Gabriel Sr, and Geneva (Peppin) Casarez and passed away on May 5, 2023 in Lubbock, Texas. Mary, was a daughter, sister, auntie, wife, mother, friend & grandma. She was full of laughter and changed the atmosphere wherever she went. She always knew how to make you laugh and be happy no matter what was happening in your life. All her life she was a caregiver. She raised many children al-though she only had two children of her own. She was everyone's second mom. She would take you in and always made you feel at home. She loved junking and finding treasures and making them new. She worked her whole life to make the best life for her children and grandchildren. She loved all her babies with all her heart. We will continue to share and make everyone remember that life is better when you laugh and love life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her parents; Gabriel Sr. and Geneva Casarez; her husband: Adolf Sanchez; two brothers: Robert Casarez and Lewis Casarez; and one sister: Alice Melendez. She is survived by one son: Adolfo Casarez and wife Crystal; one daughter: Jessica Sanchez; two brothers: Gabriel Casarez Jr. and Mauro Casarez; six Sister: Janie Chavarria, Ernestina Vasquez, Billie Rodriguez, Rosita Silva, Lucy Lozoya, and Susy Casarez; four grandchildren; Alyxsis, Hailey, Jr. and Cameron; and three great-grandchildren.
