Obituary of Ted Odell Greer

Ted O'Dell Greer, age 77, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2023 in Lubbock, TX Ted was born on September 20, 1945 to Floyd and Merle Greer in Lovington, NM. After graduating from Lovington High School in 1962, he farmed with his father west of Lovington until he went into the Army. Ted returned from service to his country and worked for Sullivan Crane as a crane operator, as an independent welder, in many aspects at Shed Signs and became a Firefighter and EMT for the City of Hobbs. Ted retired from the fire department after 20 years. Ted is survived by his loving wife, Melba Greer of the home. His sister, Waynette Wooton. His son, Scott Greer, grandson Cole and granddaughter, Elle. Also a daughter,Kelly Dillard and spouse (Michael) . granddaughter, Kristy Greebon (Cody). Grandson, James Bud Dillard (June), granddaughter Annie Shirley (Theron). As well as 3 great-granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons, and 1 great great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Merle Greer, his sister, Nelda Bevers. Ted loved his family as well as, picking guitar and attending bluegrass festivals. He was a fabricator and loved building and re-building almost anything. He loved a good joke (known in the family as a collector of dad jokes) and had stories a-plenty. He was always there with a smile and a helping hand for family, friends and co-workers. He will be greatly missed.
