Obituary of Steven Phillip Stanford

Please share a memory of Steven to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Steven Phillip Stanford was born on March 7, 1961, in Andrews, TX. He passed away peacefully in the company of his beloved daughter on August 2, 2023, in Levelland, TX after a battle with lung cancer. Steve spent the majority of his years in Lovington, NM, but along the way he made many lasting memories in small Texas towns, Houma, Louisiana and even overseas in Libya. Like his father, Steve worked in the oilfield as a well-respected driller for many years and took great pride in his work. He was a kind, generous soul who was always willing to give anything he had to help someone in need. He will be remembered for his enormous heart, his incredible sense of humor, and his intense adoration for his friends and family. He will be missed dearly. Steve was a loving father, uncle, son, and brother. He is survived by his only child, daughter: Amy Nell Stanford; his brother: Mark Stanford and wife Jamie of Houma, LA; sister: Tracy Stanford of Hagerman, NM, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is now resting in peace with sister: Jane Clayton, Debbie Purdy and parents Ed and Phyllis Stanford for all of eternity. The family welcomes visitors to celebrate the life of Steve Stanford at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Lovington, NM on Tuesday August 8, 2023, at 2:00pm. Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com.
