Funeral services for Paula Gonzalez Fernandez, 82, of Hobbs will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Emanuel Baptist Church/Iglesia Bautista Emanuel Lovington, NM with Pastor Gerardo Franco and Hiram Ramos officiating. Paula was born on January 28, 1941 in Zacatecas Mexico to Vicente and Soledad Gonzalez and passed away on September 18, 2023. Paula married Juan Jesus Fernandez on August 19, 1975 in Lovington. She loved dancing and cooking she was also a good cook. She was a hard worker. Paula liked being ornery with her kids and was always right never wrong. She loved her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Vicente and Soledad Gonzalez; and one son: Sammy Fernandez.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years: Juan Jesus Fernandez; three sons: Tony Gonzalez and wife Leticia, David Fernandez and wife Stella, and Juan Fernandez Jr. and wife Melbi; two daughters: Brenda and husband Arisdel Leyva, and Sylvia and husband Rafael Hernandez; two brothers: Ricardo Gonzalez and Rodolfo Gonzalez; and six sisters: Benita, Lupe, Irene, Manuela, Elodia, and Mari; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Emanuel Baptist Church at 1:00 pm along with a service at 6:00 pm.
