Memorial services for Gene Gilbert Ellis, Jr., 54 of Hobbs, NM will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel. Mr. Ellis was born September 5, 1956 in Kermit, TX to Gene and Ruth (Youngblood) Ellis Sr. and passed away on September 30, 2010 in Hobbs, NM. Gene was a self-employed welder and had worked on drilling rigs before opening his own business.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Ellis.
He is survived by two sons: Billy Ellis of Lovington and Gene Ellis III; two daughters: Amber Gibson of Lubbock, TX and Brandi Rickard of OK; his father and stepmother, Gene and Zelma Ellis Sr. of Lovington, NM; 2 brothers: James Ellis of Tatum and Rick Ellis of Texas; three sisters: Wanda Morgan of Tampa Bay, FL; Bobbie Coffer of Tatum, NM and Lola Jackson of Colorado; and also nine grandchildren.
