Obituary of Annie Gay Taylor

Funeral services for Annie Gay Taylor, 96, of Lovington will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm at New Beginnings Church with David Villar officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Annie was born on March 17, 1927 in Copeville, Texas to John Allen and Fannie Penelope (Sparks) Caldwell and passed away on January 15, 2024. Annie married Howard Virgil Taylor on June 17, 1944 In Garland, Texas. Annie and Howard moved to Artesia, New Mexico in 1947 moving back to Texas in 1948 then moved to Lovington, New Mexico in 1960. She was a twin her twin passed away in 1976. Annie was a long-time residence of Lovington, New Mexico where she raised all her children. She loved Jesus with all her heart. Annie loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: John Allen and Fannie Penelope Caldwell; her husband: Howard Virgil Stephenson Taylor; and seven siblings. She is survived by one daughter: Penelope (Penny) Kitchens; two sons: Steven Taylor and wife Shannon, and Roy Taylor and wife Linda Westall; one sister: Leona Witherspoon; eight grandchildren: Sara Jean Taylor and fiancé Cris Palomo, Kayla LeAnn Taylor and fiancé Jo Sanchez, Matthew and Jordyne Taylor, Audra Leigh and Manny Gallegos, William Allen and Keaghan Taylor, Georgia Anne Taylor and Austin Bila, Austin Roberts, and Presley and Garret Stewart; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm with family here from 5:00 pm till 6:00 pm. In leiu of flowers please sent to your favorite charity.
