Funeral services for Aurora Jeter, 84, of Lovington, New Mexico will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Samuel Ameh officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Aurora was born on July 23, 1939 in Dilley, Texas to Isabel and Juanita (DeLuna) Garza and passed away on March 2, 2024 in Lubbock, Texas. Aurora was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. She enjoyed reading the Bibe and watching Church Services on Tv on Sundays. Aurora enjoyed cooking and making her macaroni salad for the family and getting together for the holidays. She was a waitress for 35 years starting at Shamrock Café for Fran and J.T then to Lovington Inn until she finished out her career working at the Pioneer Steak House for Terri and Johnny Blackwood. Aurora was a loving mother, and grandmother who gave unconditional love to all her children. She loved to make people laugh and enjoyed talking on the phone with her friend's and sisters on the weekend. Aurora enjoyed bowling and being on a bowling league as well as playing shuffle board and spades. She loved the I.D channel and watching CNN and enjoyed movies that were based on true story's. Aurora loved her Dr. Pepper's any time you saw her she had one in her hand. She was preceded in death by her parents: Isabel and Juanita Garza; one daughter: Dawn Wilson; one brother: Isabel Garza Jr.; three sisters: Bertha Salinas, Betty Galvan and Alice Cavazo. She is survived by 5 sons: Larry Jeter and wife Cindy, Carey Jeter, Shaw Jeter and wife Angie, Shannon Jeter, and Shane Jeter; one daughter: Tammy Barry; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 11:00 am until after Rosary. Rosary will be held on 6:00 pm. Condolences may be sent to wwwkirbysmithrogers.com.
