Funeral services for Jose E. Ontiveros Sr., 91, of Lovington will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Samuel Ameh officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Jose was born on March 16, 1933 in Lasara, Texas to Rafael and Cecilia Ontiveros and passed away on March 30, 2024. Jose married Maria Luz Cortez on October 11, 1963 in Lovington. He loved listening to music and cooking. Jose loved being outside. He liked watching tv especially Life Time. Jose was a loving, caring, and a Godly man. Jose loved his dog Casper.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, four brothers, three sisters, and one grandson.

He is survived by his wife: Maria Ontiveros of 60 years; four sons: Jose Ontiveros Jr., Mike Ontiveros, Rafael Ontiveros, and Tommy Ontiveros; two daughters: Cecilia Ontiveros and Julie Ontiveros; three brothers: Frank Ontiveros, Andres Ontiveros, and Jesse Ontiveros; four sisters: Fay Tovar, Cruz Navarro, Connie Turrubiates, and Maria Leyva; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 12:00 noon until after Rosary. Rosary will be at 6:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home.
