Norma Elizabeth Hernandez, 58, of Lovington, was taken into the arms of Jesus to her eternal home on April 10, 2024 with family and close friends surrounding her.

Norma was born July 23, 1965 to Antonio Sr. and Guadalupe Valderaz in Lubbock, Texas. She was one of seven children and she is preceded in death by her parents: three brothers: Steve, Antonio Jr., and Raul; and one sister: Delores.

She is survived by her brother: David (Dorinda) of Dallas, and sister: Soyla of Lovington, also by many loving family members.

Norma married "her honey" Rafael Hernandez and they recently celebrated 40 years of life together. In those 40 years, they were blessed with a son: Jonathan and wife Kelsi, of Lubbock, Texas; two daughters: Jasmin and husband Andres Salcido, of Lubbock, Texas, and Jaclyn and husband Manny Murillo, of Hobbs, New Mexico.

Some of her biggest blessings were her nine grandchildren: Nic, Landree, Rylee, Kobe, Gisele, Lucas, Jayden, Braylon, and Jacob.

Norma was very active in her community, church, and with her family. Some of her favorite things were shopping, cooking, dancing, visiting with friends, watching her kids and grandkids play sports, and her nursing duties.

Services for Norma will be Monday, April 15, 2024, at Third & Central Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Visitation will be at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 1:00-5:00 p.m.

The family would especially like to thank Star Hospice, close friends, and family that made sure she was never alone and taken care of very well, the last few weeks.
