Obituary of Victor Escarcida

Victor "Tommy" Escarcida Jr. July 20, 1956 - May 31, 2011 Funeral services for Victor Escarcida Jr., 54, of Lovington, will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Rosary will be on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm and on Friday from 8:30 am until Rosary time. Victor was born on July 20, 1956 in Albuquerque to Victor Sr. and Florence (Trujillo) Escarcida and passed away on May 31, 2011 in Lovington. He was raised in Albuquerque and joined the United States Army at age 17. He enjoyed messing with motorcycles and doing mechanic work on cars as a hobby. He was very family oriented and loved taking vacations at Six Flags with the kids. At one time he was a welder for Flint Energy. Victor loved his two wonderful daughters, and great son-in-law and two terrific grandchildren and brother and sisters. He is survived by his parents of Albuquerque; two daughters: Danae and husband Francisco Dominguez, and Rebecca Escarcida, both of Lovington; one brother: Anthony and wife Anna Escarcida of Albuquerque and three sisters: Gail & husband Steve Robinson of North Carolina; Denise and husband James Poline of Albuquerque and Roberta and husband Richard Fernandez of Albuquerque and two grandchildren.
