Obituary of Ramona Carolyn Stockton

Ramona Carolyn Stockton was born December 23, 1941 in Wewoka, Oklahoma and died April 15, 2023 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was the only daughter of Bernice Iverson (Arkie) Langston and Vera Lee Haning Langston. The family moved to Jal, New Mexico in 1948 and she graduated from Jal High School in the class of 1959. While attending Draughon Business School in Lubbock, Texas she met the love of her life Tommie Raye Stockton and the two were married at Calvary Baptist Church October 1, 1960 in Jal. She gave birth to her only child a daughter on August 20, 1961. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her Father and her beloved Husband of 53 years. She is survived by her daughter: Jabecca Lynn Stockton and husband Steven Gross of Austin, Texas; Brother: Johnny (Pinkie) Wayne Langston of Axtel, Texas; Brother-in-law: Dwayne Stockton and wife Claudia of Lindale, Texas and Sister-in-law: Sylvia Allwein of Catoosa, Oklahoma along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be Wednesday, May 22nd at 2 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church in Jal, NM, handled by Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home of Lovington, and Bro. Alan Speed. A short graveside ceremony will be followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Senior Center, care of the City of Jal.
