Funeral services for Carmen Gonzales Silvas, 78, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Samuel Ameh officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Carmen was born on May 4, 1946 in Lamesa, TX to Damian Esparza and Maria Sustaita and passed away on June 8, 2024 surrounded by family. Carmen was loving, kind, and loved everyone with all her heart. Carmen would light up when her grand and great grandchildren were around. She helped anyone that needed it even if it meant she had to go without. Carmen was incredibly strong and independent, she was the rock of the family. She never lost her faith even throughout difficult times. She is preceded in death by her Parents: Maria Sustaita and Damian Esparza; her husband: Guillermo Silvas Sr.; one daughter: Rosemary Silvas Loya; and one brother: Lupe Gonzales. She is survived by one son: Guillermo Silvas Jr.; one daughter: Gloria Silvas; two brothers: Mike Gonzales and David Gonzales; one sister: Janie Hernandez; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several family members and friends. Rosary will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 6:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home.
