Obituary of Glendon Ralph Boland
Please share a memory of Glendon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Glendon Ralph Boland was born on January 18, 1942 in Levelland, Texas, to Noah Ralph Boland and Velma Ester Caudill. He grew up in Lovington, New Mexico, and graduated from Lovington High School in 1960. Glen worked as a lineman for LCEC in Lovington and SPS in Amarillo. He served in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968. After returning from Vietnam, he began his own business as a farrier and shod horses in the Lovington and Tatum areas. He worked for Texaco/Chevon and after retirement he started Well Tech, LLC. He enjoyed working with many good men and developing good friendships. Glen married Lynda Peterson in 1978. They built a life and family together in Lovington, where Glen worked hard to provide for his family. It was important to him to give his children a leg-up. Over the years he raised cattle, horses, goats, dogs, cats, and three wonderful children, Cara, Toby, and Matt. He was raised in the Nazarene Church and was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Lovington. He strove to be a good steward with the many blessings God had given him. All of his children know Christ as their Savior, and he was so grateful and comforted by this. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Martin Peterson, and granddaughter, Lyla Boland. He is survived by his wife Lynda, daughter Cara (and husband Marc) Caudle of Lubbock, Texas, son Toby (and wife Nicki) Boland of Glencoe, New Mexico, and son Matthew (and wife Holly) Boland of Midland, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Taylor (and husband Benjie), Andrew, Thomas, Kailan, Abby, and Quade along with mother-in-law, Mava Peterson, brothers-in-law, Ray (and wife Becky) Peterson, Joe (and wife Beverly) Peterson, and Leroy (and wife Elizabeth) Peterson, and a host of cousins and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Donna with Comfort Keepers. We will come together to honor Glen's life with a graveside service on Friday, July 26th at 2pm at the Lovington Cemetery, 600 W Gum, Lovington, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the NRA or a veterans organization of your choice
