Memorial services for Joseph Berton Holzer, 85, of Lovington, New Mexico will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 11;00 am at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Villar officiating. Joseph was born on October 24, 1938 in Flint Michigan to Nicolas and Helen Elizabeth (Harrison) Holzer and passed away on September 26, 2024. Joseph retired from the Military after serving 20 years. He liked fishing, hunting, camping and enjoyed the outdoors. Joseph waked around town with his metal detector.


He was preceded in death by his parents: Nicolas and Helen Holzer; his wife: Mary Francis Holzer; one daughter: Norma Jean Alling; and one son: Marvin Thomas Smith.


He is survived by on son: Newman Coburn and wife Annett; three daughters: Cynthia and husband Ernest Sanchez, Helen and husband Scott Rudd; and Anna Holzer; one brother: Nick Holzer; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
