Obituary of Ben Edward Eubank

Ben Edward Eubank September 29, 1927 - September 14, 2014 Funeral services for Ben E. Eubank, 86, of Tatum, NM will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 10:00 am NM time at Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery in Littlefield, TX. Visitation and viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home in Lovington, NM. Mr. Eubank was born on September 29, 1927 in Idalou, TX to John Gilbert and Charlsie Mae (Courtney) Eubank and passed away in Hobbs, NM on September 14, 2014. He married Owassa RMildy Woolsey in Lubbock, TX on August 20, 1948, sharing 66 years of married life together. Mr. Eubank worked for a seismograph company for several years before moving to Crossroads, NM in 1958. He worked for Western Oil, then drove trucks for Kenneth Tank Service and last was employed by Tenneco as a pumper. He was an avid fisherman, going every chance he had and teaching his children and grandchildren to love fishing also. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Bennie Lee and Edward Ray Eubank; one sister: Beth Lewis and three brothers: Raymond, Carroll and Clyde Eubank. Ben is survived by his wife, Owassa of the home, two sons: Johnny L. Eubank and wife Viola Lujan of Pecos, NM, Charles L. Eubank and wife Joyce Parent of Lovington, NM; two daughters: Rita Ann and husband Jack Sims of Bonnerdale, Arkansas and Denna May and husband Billy Dallas of Crossroads, NM; two sisters: Betty Joe and husband Jim Locy of Wisconsin and Shirley Mae and husband, Danny Wright of California; seventeen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home, PO Box 629, Portales, 88130, although flowers are being accepted as well.
