Manuel Sanchez Galvan, 75, of Lovington, New Mexico, passed away on November 27, 2024. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home in Lovington. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. There will be a meal after burial at St. Thomas Catholic Church Parish Hall 1309 N. 9th Street in Lovington. Manuel was born on December 28, 1948 in Harlingen, Texas, to Richard and Maria Dolores Sanchez Galvan. He married Enedina (Nina) on November 11, 1967 and had 4 children, Manuel Jr, Christine, Brian and Sarah. He spent much of his life in Delano, California, before settling in Lovington in 1994. He was a truck driver for 42 years before retiring in 2013. Manuel had a vibrant personality and was known for his love of family and life. He was a passionate San Francisco 49ers fan, an exceptional BBQ master, and had a special admiration for semi-trucks. His beloved dog, Bailey, was his constant companion and brought him great joy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Galvan Sr.; his wife, Enedina "Nina" Galvan; and his brother, Richard Galvan Jr.

Sons: Brian Galvan (wife Nancy) and Manuel Galvan Jr. (partner Christian Tyner)
Daughters: Sarah Rivero (husband Jesus) and Christine Kennedy (husband Felipe)
Brothers: Steve Galvan (wife Regina), Arturo Galvan, Frank Galvan, and Jesse Aguilar (wife Mary)
Sisters: Sally Pascual (husband Benny), Mary Diaz, Blanca Galvan, and Lupe Galvan
Grandchildren: Nine
Great-grandchild: One
Manuel's legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His beloved dog, Bailey, will remain a symbol of his warmth and companionship.
