Services for Nicholas Christy Pazuros, 84, of Lovington, New Mexico will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at St. Christopher's Church in Hobbs with Reverend Nancy Antrim officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens in Hobbs. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home in Lovington from 1:00pm until 7:00 pm. Nicholas passed away on December 10, 2024 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on September 4, 1940 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Nicholas and Tessie Pazuros. He married Vickie Harlan on April 10, 1999. He is survived by his wife Vickie of 25 years; three daughters: Christye Sisson and husband Dean of Pittsford, New York, Cindee Timm of Fillmore, California and Brittany Garcia and husband Jose of Lovington, New Mexico; three sons: Jared Baker and partner Krystal of Artesia, New Mexico, Justin Baker of Artesia, New Mexico, and Bruce Baker of Midland, Texas; and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Nicholas Pazuros and Tessie Hemler; two sisters: Christine Pazuros and Dorothy Lightsey. Nicholas graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in Atlanta, Georgia on June 6, 1958. He was in the Army, Special Forces from January 26, 1962 until January 25, 1965 followed by the Army Reserves until January 25, 1968. Nicholas graduated from Duke University with a Degree in Electrical Engineering on June 6, 1966. He worked for the Central Intelligence Agency, Office of Technical Services, from 1966 until his retirement on March 4, 1994. Nicholas then worked for the Hobbs Police Department as a Background Investigator from December 20, 2001 until September 30, 2009. He then went to work for the Lea County Sheriffs Office as Courthouse Security from 2011 until he retired in 2022. Nicholas enjoyed being with his family, riding motorcycles with friends and building and flying radio-controlled airplanes. Cards can be mailed to 303 N. 4th Street Lovington, NM 88260. Charitable donations can be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer and Research Hospital in Houstin, Texas.
