Funeral services for Augustin Bartholic Sr., 73, of Lovington will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Samuel Ameh officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Augustin was born on September 28, 1951 in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico to Miguel Gomez and Urbana Hinojosa and passed away on January 1, 2025. Augustin was a man of many trades and was a hard worker in all he did whether it was working in the fields to construction or checking wells. He loved to go out to the mountains, camping and was an avid hunter. Augustin will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a lifelong resident of Lovington.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Miguel Gomez and Urbana Hinojosa; two sisters: April Bartholic and Cruz Miramontes; one brother: Fernando Gomez; son-in-law: Aldo Porraz; and his mother-in-law: Carmen Rivera.

He is survived by his wife: Alicia Bartholic; two daughters: Maria Bartholic and Blanca and husband Frankie Castillo; two sons: Augustin Bartholic Jr. and wife Joanna, and Miguel Bartholic and wife Valentina all of Lovington; his siblings: Antonio Gomez, Joe Abbett, Juan Rios, Tim Abbett, Carmen Gomez, Lety Rios, Yolanda Rios and many other adopted brothers and sisters; ten grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 1:00 pm until after Rosary. Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home.
