Funeral services for Johnny Ray Cartwright, 91, of Brownwood, Tx. will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home with David Stewart officiating. Johnny was born on August 8, 1933 in Ada. Oklahoma to John and Mahala (Townsend) Cartwright and passed away on January 20, 2025. Johnny worked in the oilfield. He owned a farm outside of Lovington where he grew hay and raised cows. Johnny loved listening and dancing to country music. He enjoyed watching boxing.

He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Mahala Cartwright; his wife Beth Cartwright; one daughter: Sheri Shannon; one grandchild: Jackie Gatewood; and three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by two sons: Gary Cartwright and wife June and Brent Silman and wife Eva; one daughter: Kim and husband Barry Copeland; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
