Obituary of Bobby Joe Rice

Funeral services for Bobby Joe Rice, 92, of Lovington will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hobbs with Bishop Brady Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Bobby was born on February 16, 1932 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Paul and Mary (Taurner) Rice and passed away on January 18, 2025. Bobby was in the Navy and he did two World Tours. He loved to fish and in his younger years he liked to hunt. Bobby was very active at his Church. He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Mary Rice; his wife: Jeanette Middleton Rice; one son: Michael Rice; one daughter: Lori Johnson and one brother: Ralph Rice. He is survived by two daughters: Pat Rice and Suzanne Norris; 10 grandchildren: Jeremy, Michael, Carolyn, Kelli, Bobby, Samantha, Josh, Lorina, Mesina, and Reja; 27 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
