Obituary of Joseph Sampson Smith Evans

Watch the Tribute Joseph Sampson Smith Evans May 14, 1973 - September 21, 2014 Funeral services for Joe Sampson Evans, 41, of Albuquerque, NM and formerly of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Donald Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Joe was born in Hobbs, NM on May 14, 1973 to Shirley Evans and Ivory Smith Sessions and passed away on September 21, 2014 in Farmington, NM. He grew up in Lovington, NM and attended Lovington High School. Joe loved to rap and dance, sing and music and he enjoyed being around his family and his friends. He loved clothes and was always very nicely dressed. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Mattie Jane Evans, Synthia Ann Lynch, and Barbara Ann Evans and one brother, Harry Lee Evans. Surviving him is his fiancee, Evangline Martinez of Farmington, NM; one son: Josiah Evans of Albuquerque, NM; one daughter: Meriah Evans of Albuquerque, NM; his fiancée: Evangeline Martinez of Farmington; three sisters: Catherine and husband Willie Howard of Lovington, NM, Paula Smith and companion Cedric Eagans of Hobbs, NM and LaTasha and husband Sylvester Bouldin of San Antonio, TX; also by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends and family.
