Obituary of Della Pearl Fairweather

Della Pearl Fairweather November 11, 1922 - April 14, 2012 Funeral services for Della Pearl Fairweather, 89, of Lovington, will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church with Bro. Harry Pittam & Bro. Danny Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Services are being conducted by Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Fairweather was born on November 11, 1922 in Caldwell County, North Carolina to D. Roson and Mary Ella (Cline) Annas and passed away at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock on April 14, 2012. Della was raised in Granite Falls, N.C. and graduated school there. She enlisted in the United States Navy on May 28, 1943 and began active duty as Storekeeper 1st class on June 8, 1943 serving in Bronx, New York and San Francisco, California. She was honorably discharged on February 1, 1946. She married A. E. “Sparky” Fairweather in Lovington, NM on February 28, 1989 and they have shared 23 years together. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. Della loved to fish and taught Sparky how to fish and they enjoyed many good times fishing and hunting together. She was also an avid shopper, especially for groceries and kept a large supply on hand. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons and three sisters. She is survived by her husband, Sparky, of the home and one son: Kenneth and wife Kathy Hennon of Silver Springs, Maryland; one brother; Andy and wife Affine Annas of Texas and one granddaughter; Kimberly Hennon of Silver Springs, Maryland. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 8:30 am until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
